History of the 4K

The Kollege of Knowledge Committee for Kids began in the Bowral Hotel in 1989. A group of 7 local men came together and decided to do something special for the disadvantaged and disabled kids in their local area. Over the years they have organised many events to raise money with the focus being the annual Gent’s lunch held in October each year. Recently the Lady’s luncheon has been developed and is going from strength to strength.

To date we have provided almost $3 000 000 for kids in the local area. The money raised has assisted numerous organisations, schools, individuals and families. Some of the organisations include Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Shepherd Centre, Childlflight, Clown Doctors, Camp Quality and an autistic program called ASDESI (Austism Spectrum Disorder Education Support and Information).

We have purchased educational and recreational equipment for individuals and schools for our Special Needs Kids so they can interact and play with other kids and their families. We have purchased wheelchairs, mechanical lifts and speech therapy for autistic and down syndrome, cochlea implants for the deaf and equipment for the visually impaired to name just a few.

And we aren’t finished yet. There are still plenty of kids that need our help and we have big plans for what we want to achieve in the future. Please contact us if you would like to help out or make a donation here.
