The 2019 Coverdrive Program will recommence the beginning of February.
We are very pleased to have secured the services of Susie Purvis, the tennis pro from Bowral Tennis Club, for the 2019 Coverdrive program. Susie is a highly experienced coach and tennis will be a great addition to our program.
The timing of Susie coming on board could not be better, as this year we will have an extra 20 students participating in our weekly program. This will take our numbers to around 65 – 70 students each week and is a wonderful endorsement of the reputation the program has gained in the local community since commencing in 2016.
The summer program comprising cricket, golf and tennis will operate throughout term 1. This will involve students dividing into 4 groups and rotating every 15mins between the 4 stations (2 cricket, 1 golf & 1 tennis). Having the ability to run 4 stations is perfectly suited to keeping the students motivated and engaged, providing greater opportunities to develop their commutative skills
As we head into our 4th year, we consider the progress of the Coverdrive program with pride.
Each year we have witnessed numbers grow, confirming the need our community has for this program. In addition to running the program during school hours, we are endeavouring to connect with students outside of school hours, especially after they leave school. There is nothing more rewarding than when a former student tells you they are gainfully employed or are actively involved in sport. This is a result of their caring, hardworking teachers and the Coverdrive Program building their confidence to give things a go.
Once again without the wonderful support of the 4K we would not be achieving the amazing results that are a benefit for the Southern Highlands community as a whole.
